Ocho Homes Lux by Eight Continents - The Giants Rest

Positive: Location was good for what I needed. Negative: Place was dirty, dusty. There was a lingering smell on the bedding even though it looked clean. I could feel the springs poking out of the mattress. No batteries in the remote so I could not watch TV and distract my mind from where I was. Seals in the shower and sink were black with mold. I don't think it was cheap for what it was.

Poor and those beds can't be queen size even by Uk standards. Worse stay in my life. Positive: We arrived at 1am as flight to Belfast from Scotland was delayed. Host answered the phone. Negative: Rooms small and bed uncomfortable. Very noisy with road noise. Drafty one night. No place for luggage but floor. I call it tenement housing and not worth the price. Only good thing was kitchen area. If your older don't stay here. Very steep and narrow steps. lots of litter and graffiti around the front. We tried to change rooms to one not directly facing street, but he said they didn't have any rooms available. Two nights with hardly any sleep.

Not worth for the money, the location is different than the name! Positive: The kitchen is equipped with utensils, a washing machine, and ironing tools, which might be handy for guests, although we didn't use any of them. There is a bottle of water, a tea and coffee assortment, and a hair dryer in the room. An adapter for non-UK guests would be very handy, but there is none provided. Negative: The property is very expensive for this value, given the state of the room and the location. BEWARE - although the property is advertised as Ocho Homes by Eight Continents, the actual address and the location are on the opposite side of the city, which we only learned upon arrival at the initial location Ocho Homes by Eight Continents, where we were told we would be living in Ocho Homes Lux Druncairn Gardens (which is not the name they indicate on their Booking account!). The owner/manager did not meet us face to face, only instructed us via intercom through the door. This didn't seem very approachable or helpful, especially late in the evening, arriving at a "wrong" location. It was not the location we expected or aimed at all. Given the state of the room (the photos look way better than the room in reality), the price is way too steep.
